"Paolo Dieci: source of inspiration and engine of change"
With these words, the Ceremony for the awarding of the first Paolo Dieci Award for the partnership between Civil Society Organizations and Diasporas was held in Rome, within the 2nd edition of Coopera Conference, the National Conference on Development Cooperation organized by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The initiative was promoted by Link2007 and Association le réseau together with CISP.
"Established to remember Paolo Dieci, his commitment to international cooperation, and in particular his conviction on the importance of involving the Diaspora organizations in the initiatives of Italian cooperation, the Award is fully in the perspective of achieving the sustainable development goals on which the Italian cooperation is focused, with particular reference to enhancing the positive contribution of migration to the development of partner Countries”, as explained by the president of the jury, MauraViezzoli, President of CISP.
The jury of the award
The jury, chaired by Maura Viezzoli, President of CISP and member of the Link2007 Board of Directors, is made up of: Stefano Arduini, director of Vita; Cleophas Adrien Dioma and Mehret Tewolde, Le Réseau; Gabriele Giuglietti, Banca Etica; Stefania Mancini, Fondazione Charlemagne; Roberto Natale, Rai per il Sociale; Daniele Panzeri, IOM.

The Bara Ni Yiriwa - Work and Development in Mali project, presented by the NGO Tamat, is awarded for its contribution to the social, economic and cultural growth of local areas, disseminating and sharing good practices and innovative ideas developed within the partnership.

Tetezana Onlu, Bridge between Italy and Madagascar
The DS project, Distance Support, promoted by the Onlus Tetezana in partnership with MAIS Onlus, demonstrates that its efforts to strengthen the role, skills and quality of the diaspora, ensuring it a leading role .
First place
Association of African Engineers
The awarding of the Paolo Dieci Prize to the project Drinking water and appropriate technologies for education and health project in Moumekeng - Cameroon, implemented by the partnership between the African engineers association and the Italian CSO Arcs, aims to recognize the role attributed to the transfer of technologies and skills in partner countries. In fact, the partnership, through the project, intends to enhance the experience of complementarity and mutual enrichment in international cooperation, education for global citizenship and social development activities. We also recognize the maturity of the relationship between the two associations and the history of the organization of the diaspora, such as to contribute to local social and economic growth.
The Award and the 5000 Euro prize to the first place winner were presented by the Deputy Minister Marina Sereni.
